First two weeks

Well, this is my first blog and I'm going to use it like a 'logbook'. I'm really into social media now. The first two weeks I used to know Philips and social media. Before this I use social media in my personal life. I use Facebook, Hyves, Twitter, LinkedIn, and since two weeks Yammer.

The first week was interesting. There was a lot of information for me. Philips is a multinational and there are so many different organizations inside Philips that I have to explore. I saw a lot of intranet sites.

I'm happy to say that the people at Philips are very helpful and open. So it's easy for me to join the organization. I'm curious if this culture is also in Eindhoven and in other countries.

I read already the new book from Huib Koeleman 'Twitteren op je werk'. It's about using social media at work. It gives me a new vision about internal communication. Internal communicators will be changing from a gatekeeper to a gatewatcher. We have to prepare ourselves for this. Gert and Cameron let me order also 'Social media at work'. So when recieve it, I will start reading it directly. It's an English book so maybe there is a different vision of internal communication and social media. We will see.

Next week I will be two days in Eindhoven. I will interview some active members of Yammer and some communicators. I will also be one day in Den Haag because of an event (Meet&Tweet). Next week I will blog again.
